Instituted the organization’s first mission, strategic plan, and core values.

Created financial stability by developing growth strategies for multiple revenue streams, including program attendance, gift shop and café, event rental, and fundraising.

Increased operational budget from $200,000 to $1,000,000, developing all underlying accounting and fiscal management systems.

Cured legal issues that hindered organizational growth and fundraising capacity.

Grew core staff from one to nine core employees, developed robust part-time paid and volunteer support staff, created dynamic office culture, and developed all human resources policies and procedures.

Developed creative mission-driven public programs that successfully educate and engage a diverse audience, tripling visitor attendance.

Invented small business incubator program connected to educational mission that serves hundreds of entrepreneurs in DC, MD, and VA.

Created and implemented comprehensive marketing plan that focuses on website and social media, earned media, and leveraging partnerships with local businesses and cultural organizations.

Implemented best management practices for stewardship of museum collections, developing first collections and building advisory committees, hiring first professional collections manager, and developing first collections management policy and preservation plan.

Strategically built governing board to support organizational growth, completing full turnover of board membership, and filling advisory boards with local leaders.

Created contributed revenue program, growing grant funding from almost 0% to 50% of organizational budget in 9 years.

Served as the organization’s primary external contact and spokesperson.
